With continuing advancement in science, technology and economics, life continues to be dismal for the majority of world citizens.

The average citizens of the first world and those of us living in third world countries benefitting from proximity to globalization pipelines, are also insecure about our future.

Parenting, (often mothers alone) education and hard work is the vehicle to the toll filled highway to Success. But at each toll, there are wide exits with signs that say,

 “EXIT THE HIGHWAY IF YOU CANNOT PAY”

These exits are long one way tunnels built underneath mountains of despair and there are no roads leading back.

Through resilience some make it back to the narrow highway by climbing steep road-less mountains. Unable to share on the journey they pass the starved, the defeated, the maimed, psychos who fell victim to insurmountable stress and mountain pirates whose aim is to take toll money, rations and life.

I am "The Major", I live in one of the many squatters community at the foot of Mountain Despair—on the highway side.

There have been talks about evictions, but it doesn’t bother me as it does others. I was lucky to have listened to the elderly, who listened to their elderly.

They told me there have been talks about evictions in order to build an entrance tunnels to Highway Success since its inception over four hundred years ago.

With help and confidence I have created a solvent life for myself and because of all I’ve heard, seen, pondered, read and experienced, I have decided to share my thoughts with brothers and sisters as they stop by to dress sore feet and rest tired backs.

Some are reluctant to stop at my place.

After climbing Despair they would prefer to relax, maybe listen to music, network, chat with friends or just rest on the lighter side of our community.

Only the curious stop here... only the intelligent stay
